Solar system expansion
Want to add panels, a battery or charging for an electric car? Before expanding, it pays to know what the existing system can take.

What's included
A look at your case
Remotely, plus a site visit if it's needed.
A written quote
With the price, before any work starts.
Only with your go-ahead
It's your call: we only go ahead when you say yes.
What can be added
- More panels, planned for your system.
- A battery and, if the inverter allows it, backup for power cuts.
- Electric vehicle charging, integrated with the solar system.
- Monitoring and energy management to keep track of it all.
You can ask for just one of these or several. In the assessment we tell you what to do first and what can wait.
What limits an expansion
- Inverter capacity: every inverter has a power limit.
- The contract and the grid connection.
- The roof: space, orientation, shade and the state of the structure.
- The electrical installation of the home.
That's why we start with a technical assessment: we look at what you have and what the home allows. Only then do we propose what makes sense, with the price stated before you go ahead. We give no power or price figures without knowing the system.
Expanding in stages
You don't have to do it all at once. You can start with the battery or the car charger and add panels later, or the other way round. If the current inverter is near its limit, switching to a suitable hybrid inverter can open the way to the next stages. In the assessment we suggest an order that makes sense for your home.
How we handle your request
To start, it helps us to know the brand and model of the inverter, how many panels you have today, whether there is a battery and what you want to add. If you don't have these to hand, describe what you know and we complete it in the assessment.
We reply within 48 h and agree the next steps with you, with a site visit if needed. The decision to go ahead is yours, with no obligation.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add panels to my system?
It may be possible, but it depends on the inverter, the roof and the grid connection contract. The assessment tells you what is feasible in your case.
Can my inverter handle more panels?
Every inverter has a limit. Give the brand and model and we tell you whether it's enough or whether expanding means replacing the inverter.
Can I connect an electric car charger to the solar system?
Electric vehicle charging can be integrated with the solar system. The details depend on the charger and the system; we look at that in the assessment.
