FusionSolar offline or no data: 5 checks

The FusionSolar app shows your inverter or system as offline, or has stopped showing data? Often the inverter keeps producing and only the internet connection has dropped. These five checks are safe and never ask you to open or touch any equipment.

What's included

  • A look at your case

Remotely, plus a site visit if it's needed.

  • A written quote

With the price, before any work starts.

  • Only with your go-ahead

It's your call: we only go ahead when you say yes.

Has the system stopped, or only the app?

Start by telling the two cases apart. Look at the inverter itself: if the display or lights show that it is running, then as a rule the problem is only communication. If it is dark in daytime or shows an alarm light, the problem is the equipment and needs a proper check: ask us for a quote.

The five checks

  • Is the home internet working? Test it on another device. If the router has no connection, the app gets no data.
  • Did you change router, provider or wifi password? As a rule, the inverter's communication module stores the old network details and drops off when the network changes: it needs to be set up again.
  • Is it daytime? At night the inverter is idle and, as a rule, the app may show it as offline. Check again by day, in the sun.
  • Are the lights on the communication module on? Look at them and compare with the manufacturer's manual. Don't remove it or touch the cables.
  • Are the app and the account right? Sign out, sign in again, update the app and check you use the account where the system was registered.

If the router had no connection, unplug only the router for one minute, plug it back in, wait a few minutes and refresh the app.

When a visit is needed

If the internet works, the account is right and it is daytime but the system is still offline, the communication module may need to be set up again on site or replaced. That is done at the property. We tell you whether your case can be handled remotely or needs a visit, and send a written quote with the price stated before you go ahead. We reply within 48 h.

Is the account in the installer's name?

It can happen: the system was registered under the installer's account and the owner never had access. If you lost access because the installer stopped answering, tell us and we'll look at what is possible; see also help when the installer is gone and the Huawei page.

About this information

These are general points that hold for most systems with internet monitoring. They don't replace the manual for your model, which prevails. The manufacturer's manuals and support are on the Huawei support site.

Frequently asked questions

Does FusionSolar offline mean the inverter has failed?

Not necessarily. Often only the communication has dropped and the inverter keeps producing. Look at the unit: if it is running, the internet connection is the likely cause.

I changed router. Do I need to do anything?

As a rule, yes: the communication module has to be connected to the new network. The steps depend on the module and the model; follow the manufacturer's manual or ask us for help.

Do you need to come to my home?

Not always. We start with what can be seen remotely and tell you in the quote whether a visit is needed.
